1. If there are structures above the sewer line.

Trenchless pipe repair basically works like this: an expander head is pulled by a hydraulic machine through an already existing pipe. The new pipe, which can be larger that the old one since the expander head clears a larger space, is laid on the place of the old pipe.

Even if you don’t need bigger pipes or have any standing structures in your yard, pipe bursting is still a worthwhile option for people who don’t want to disturb their lawns. The traditional method of sewer line replacement means digging a large trench the length and depth of the pipe, which means that not only is there a large trench in your yard, but there’s also quite a bit of diplaced dirt.
