From solar energy for businesses to solar energy for residential properties, the importance of solar energy cannot be discounted not just here in the United States but in many other places all throughout the world as a whole as well. Solar energy is on the rise on a global scale, as solar panels have become truly more accessible than ever before. For many people, the benefits of using solar energy are many, whether they end up using this solar energy in their homes or at their businesses – or even for both.
Of course, we must first discuss the importance of solar energy from an environmental standpoint, as this is one of the main reasons that solar energy is used in the first place (though it is certainly not the only one, to be clear). For one, solar energy is harnessing a natural resource in abundant supply – our sun, burning ever bring day in and day out. After all, as much as 120,000 terrawatts of power are flowing into the Earth from the sun on a daily basis. If this energy is harnessed, it could be certainly quite powerful indeed, there is no doubt about it in the slightest. In fact, this power is up to 10,000 the power flowing through our highly industrial societies at any given point in time, both here in the United States and throughout the rest of the world as a whole as well.
Aside from sustainability, solar energy is hugely affordable as well, something that has made it largely appealing to residential households and businesses of all sizes as well. In fact, some schools, even public schools, are beginning to incorporate solar panels to varying extents all throughout the building. After all, even a little bit of solar energy can make a difference, helping to save the planet and save money alike.
For instance, solar energy more than pays for itself at the end of the day. Installing a solar energy system and solar panels for houses or for commercial buildings will come with a cost, of course, but the solar panels in use will end up paying for themselves in clean energy savings after only about one year of usage, two years at the very most. And in all of the years of usage that follow, even more savings will be had. After all, solar panels are typically able to be used for decades upon decades before ever needing to be replaced.
And the installation of solar panels is now more accessible than ever before, something that can be seen by a growth of solar energy usage that climbs as high as 20% on a yearly basis. This pattern of growth has even been able to hold up for as many as 15 years, something that is truly and hugely impressive, to say the very least. Part of this is due not only to the climbing efficiency of solar panels as time passes on, but to their falling prices as well. Even though solar panels are still somewhat expensive, they are now considerably more affordable for the average home owner or even the average business owner here in the United States.
And in reaction to these falling prices, solar energy has been able to be more widely utilized than ever before. As a matter of fact, there are nearly one and a half million solar panels installed all throughout this country alone, let alone elsewhere in the world at large. In total, these solar panels create as many as 40 gigawatts of energy, meaning that a huge amount of homes and businesses are able to be partially or even fully powered through the use of solar panels. In the years that are to come, it is hopeful that solar energy usage will continue to climb, even replacing some of the other and less environmentally friendly forms of powering our homes as well as our places of work. Solar energy and the solar panels used to harness it present an incredibly viable alternative likely to become more popular in the years that are ahead of us.
