We rarely take a moment to thank our hard working appliances. After all, when you think about all that they do for us, they truly do deserve some thanks. The dirty work that once chained women to their homes and made the day to day a constant battle in drudgery has mostly been alleviated by our friends the dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. Not even to mention the steam cleaner, vacuum, lawnmower, etc.

But our appliances deserve more than just thanks at the end of the end. They deserve tender love and care, as they like to say, but in a most practical sense. What we mean by that is that we have to take care of our appliances as they age, and retire them when they have worked for us long enough. Washer and Dryer
Your washing machine should last 10 years before you have to think about replacing it. Amazing news! But that doesn’t mean you can simply neglect it the rest of the time. Think about getting it inspected once every two years, or every time you get electrical work done in it’s vicinity.

Dishwashers
20% of dishwashers break within three to four years, so yes, you can expect to get repairs done about that regularly. Again, make sure to have an electrical inspection for your dishwasher when you get new appliances installed nearby.

Refrigerators

Keep an eye on your appliances — you never know when you will need to get dishwasher repairs or something of the like.
